[이호열 박사의 연예뉴스 ‘영어로 따라잡기’]가수 이적 "어린이 팬 공연장 입장 안돼 미안”

대학로에서 소극장 공연에 한창인 가수 이적(사진)이 여섯 살짜리 팬이 공연장까지 왔다가 발걸음을 돌려야 했다는 소식을 듣고 아쉬움을 감추지 못했다.
지난 8일 오후 4시 대학로 SH극장에서 ‘나무로 만든 노래’ 공연을 가진 이적은 공연 도중 이같은 소식을 전해들었다. 공연 시작전 관객에게 ‘나만노’로 삼행시를 지어 응모하게 한 후, 공연 중반 우수작을 발표해 선물을 주고 있는 이적은 8일 이 코너에서 6살의 한 팬이 나이 제한 때문에 공연장에 들어오지 못했다는 사실을 알게 된 것. 결국 공연장에는 그 팬의 어머니만 입장, 삼행시를 통해 이 소식을 알렸다.
이적은 “여섯살 난 기현이가 엄마, 아빠가 제 팬이어서 자연스럽게 아이도 내 팬이 됐다는데 나이 제한 때문에 입장하지 못했다는 사실을 접하니 마음이 무겁다”고 말했다.
이에 대해 공연관계자는 “미취학 아동의 공연장 입장이 불가능해 원칙을 지켰는데, 향후 열리는 공연에서는 가족 단위의 관람객에 한해 아동 입장 허용을 적극 검토하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Hearing that his 6-year-old fan could not enter the performance hall due to age limit, Lee Juck expressed his regrets.
Last Sunday, Lee Juck was devoting himself to the performance ‘Namuro Mandeun Norae (Song Made of Wood)’ at SH theater of Daehakno, when he heard such news. Prior to the performance, he had arranged for the audiences to each hand in a note with 3 line poetries, each verse starting with the first syllable of the phrase ‘Namuro Mandeun Norae’. He was planning to choose best works amongst and give out presents. It was at this time of drawing out the works, when Lee Juck read a verse that a mother wrote saying she had to join the performance by herself because her son could not enter.
“It is heartbreaking to hear that Gi Hyun could not enter the performance hall, when all 3 members of the family is a fan of mine.” Lee Juck stated.
Accordingly, a staff of the performance explained “So far, we kept to the regulation of limiting the entrance of preschoolers, but from now on, we will give careful consideration into allowing the entrance of children in family unit.”
